TWELVE RACES GLOSSARY

AAnn: the AAnn race are a highly militaristic reptilian race located near Thanagar Empire and the Dionii Hive. Unfortunately for the AAnn, both of their neighbors are very militant as well, waging constant war as a way of life. Only the high tech advantages that the AAnn have built over the millennia allows them to survive in such a chaotic environment. Waging war and gaining honor are the primary goals for most AAnn. Individually, these reptile aliens are very aggressive and violent, taking umbrage at the slightest provocation and using hand to hand violence to resolve any such situation.

Ael Pirates: this pirate raiding group operates almost exclusively along the borders of the Atorian Empire and act more like a guerilla force. With a handful of small ships they ambush passing freighters, capturing or destroying the cargoes, although leaving the passengers and crew unharmed.

Altess Dynasty: located in the Milky Way Galaxy, the Altess Dynasty has (through genetic engineering and breeding techniques) refined its people into a much more evolved version of the human race. On the surface, there is nothing unusual about them except they are especially good-looking and physically fit. However, they possess attributes and abilities far beyond the range of ordinary humans. The Altess see themselves as supermen who are destined to one day control the entire universe, except they are so smug and secure and so insulated by their vast wealth and power that they generally do nothing to advance their race's station in the Liloqua Quadrant. As a result, the average Altess is lazy and non-productive, and far more likely to pay somebody to do something for him than to do something for themselves. The Altess like to live a life of luxury, enjoying the finer things, and generally distancing themselves from adversity and hardship as much as possible. The Altess have few problems and nearby races have learned to avoid Altess space due to their very advanced technology and weaponry. The only serious contenders against the Altess are the neighboring evil Atorian Empire and the aggressive insectoid Dionii race. The FAR has often wooed the Altess to join but to date they have put off the decision.

Altess Prime: the Altess homeworld holds a strong ceremonial place in the hearts and minds of the Altess. It has an almost religious significance to this otherwise secular, rational people. With that in mind, a full division of the Altess Armoria keeps an eye on the world at all times, even though there hasn't been an attack on the planet in more than a thousand years. Since a potential conflict between its neighbors (the FAR and the Atorian Empire) seems plausible, the Altess aren't taking any chances and the planets defenses have recently been significantly enlarged. Although the Altess plan on staying out of the conflict as best they can, some wild-eyed bomber pilot might go rogue and fire a spread at the Altess Dynasty to provoke a reaction. Were their homeworld damaged or destroyed during this conflict, the sanguine Altess would go on the warpath, seeking to annihilate whoever dared desecrate their most beloved of worlds.

Angel Corps: a interstellar humanitarian organization equipped with dozens of hospital ships, able to intervene on planets with plagues and disasters. Based in the FAR, it is funded primarily by the Mithridates Monarchy.

Antimatter: commercial or military-grade antimatter is almost unheard of within the Milky Way Galaxy, with the Atorian Empire being the only interstellar nation that has officially created it. Initially, the Atorians gave several key contracts to the Struthio race, including the antimatter research that destroyed them. Now, antimatter drives and antimatter bombs have been finally fielded by the Atorians, to the consternation of their neighbors. Rumors that the Viltrumites, the Dionii, and the Altess have antimatter weapons have not been substantiated.

Arganthonios: an immense city-planet with a stupendous population (800 billion), these sorts of planets draw a huge amount of trade to themselves. Located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire, the planet is a free one with very few political or military connections. Arganthonios leans somewhat towards the Federation of Allied Races and 70% of its interstellar trade is with the FAR.

Astrofauna: this is a catch-all word for interstellar lifeforms (not necessarily intelligent) that can travel through the enormously hostile environment of space under their own power. The Craydor spacebourne alien-ships in the Atorian Empire are a good example of these types of deep-space wildlife.

Atorian Imperial Navy: MORE HERE SOON

Atorian Empire: the Atorian Empire is the single most powerful and influential force in the Milky Way Galaxy! For more than a thousand years this female-dominated empire has expended, forging alliances and developing advanced military technologies that quickly made them a galactic powerhouse. When a planet is absorbed into the Empire (either by invasion or alliance) a Atorian Lady or duchess is giving it as a holding. She totally runs the planet and leads the native government; the Atorian Empire is currently ruled by six Empresses and each has complete control over their sector of the Empire. They communicate frequently with one another and each Empress has a planet in their sector that they have chosen as their Throneworld. With over a million inhabited star systems under their control, the Atorians have an enormous amount of resources, planets, and personnel at its disposal and they use this to continue their expansion across the Milky Way Galaxy in a series of enlargements called Expansion Phases.

Atorian Super-science: antimatter drives, shimmer fields, moon towing, solar harvesting, antimatter bombs MORE HERE SOON

Atorian Throneworlds: ruling a titanic empire the size of the Atorians' takes a great deal of effort, so the leaders of the Empire have divided their space into six areas and have appointed six Empresses to rule each as a fairly independent fief. Within their sectors, each Empress has a planet that she has chosen as her throneworld. These planets are typically located deep within the Empire and are well-protected by vast numbers of military spacecraft and millions of soldiers. The original Fehran homeworld was destroyed during the first Expansion Phase of the Empire by hostile forces, which were eventually wiped out.

Aug(s): short for 'augments,' a catchall term for the numerous bionic and cybernetic systems most high-tech world sentient beings use for communications, first-aid, protection and entertainment. Aug services can include full biomedical monitors, virtual reality displays, mapping and location apps, targeting and sensory arrays, among many others.

Aulogous Border Region: the area of space located between the Federation of Allied Races (FAR) and the Dionii Hive. This region is a no-colonization zone for the FAR since any encroachment is seen by the Dionii as hostile and the colony is always destroyed. In return, the FAR routinely bombards into oblivion any Dionii colony that crops up in the region.

Battlescreens: a unique force field technology invented by the Viltrumites. Battlescreens are a secret technology that was first developed by the Viltrumite Empire early in its conflicts with the Faberians and their allies. The ability to withstand moderate damage and stay online is one of the battlescreens more unique features, but once overwhelmed it stays down several minutes (the difference between a ‘hard screen’ and regular shields is screens must be overwhelmed in one salvo, or it does no damage). Also, when a ‘hard screen’ is ‘up’, a warship cannot fire out through it. A vessel with screens up cannot launch or recover fighters, bombers, or other small craft and point defense also cannot fire out.

Boarding Sleds (SLED): usually launched by warships, these small craft are an effective way to board enemy ships, bases, and asteroid forts; the FAR-built SLEDs also have the ability to assault planetary targets as well. The FAR Navy has several ship designs that incorporate boarding sled technology, including the Roughneck-class troopship and the Makrraket-class battlespace cruisers. Boarding sleds most common moniker are “boarding torpedoes”. They vary in size and number of people they carry according to class, with Class V (military grade) being the largest. Also known as "TITs", or tactical insertion torpedoes.

Boom Tubes: powerful hand-held devices that let the owner travel light years in mere seconds. An uber-technology owned solely by the Thanagarians.

Boost: a military drug intended for temporary use during combat situations, it is primarily used by FAR Marines. It is only manufactured only on a medical moon in Federation space.

Border Worlds: a large network of planets and star systems with heavy orbital defenses built by the Golgan Republik to thwart ongoing attacks of the Dionii Hive. More than 70% of the Republiks' military fleet is stationed at these critical choke points along the border.

Burzzad: a bird-like client race of the Atorians. They are extremely violent and enjoy combat, with millions serving in the Atorian Empire military. They have a horrific tendency of pecking out the internal organs of injured and captured soldiers while on the battlefield.

Catarrhy Wars: MORE HERE SOON

C-boomers: designed for planetary strikes and taking out large asteroid fortresses, these refitted FAR warships are AI controlled and feature a huge kinetic spinal mount weapon of enormous destructive power. All c-boomers are generally older warships in the heavy cruiser to battleship range that have been converted to modern military standards and they are totally automated. While smaller warships normally have a difficult time surviving on the super-tech battlefield against the Atorians, these AI vessels can be deployed without the worry of significant personnel losses. The newest version in this class use a experimental Hypermass Generator as its spinal weapon.

City-Planet: a city-planet is generally considered to be a world that is covered pole-to-pole with one large mega-city. The population of these type of worlds typically are in the hundreds of billions, with several having more than a trillion inhabitants. Almost all are massive economic powerhouses or trading centers.

Combat Wasps: these are high-gee attack missiles fired from external ordinance (XO)-equipped vessels, bases, and space stations that seek to engage their targets autonomously. Combat wasps come in every size and function, including both attack and defense, and once launched they are fully automated. They carry a multitude of independent submunitions, including beam weapons (energy, laser, and particle), kinetic missiles, fusion bombs, decoy chaff, and electronic-warfare pods. They can also be packed with powerful antimatter warheads that are fed into the XO mounted wasp seconds before launch using a rotary feed from the ships' main magazine. Most major interstellar powers use combat wasps.

Consortium of Worlds (CoW): a small alliance of planets located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. They are strictly neutral when it comes to issues involving those two interstellar powers.

Core Powers: at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy lies the Core, a volatile region of space filled with almost half the stars in the galaxy. Here some of the most ancient alien races dwell. Their ability to rapidly repair entire planetary ecospheres and even build whole planets is an indication of the awesome technical prowess of the Core Races. Sadly, these powerful aliens are always completely inward-looking, refusing to interact with other alien races outside the Core but some (like the Mesharanon, the Lians, and the Wendira Swarm) occasionally converse with lesser races outside the Core. Ultimately most of these powerful races end up "evolving" to higher planes of existence, although several have actually "devolved" (the most notorious being the Gabbleducks).

Craydor: these giant space creatures are a race of biomechanoid living ships that inhabit the Milky Way Galaxy. Their race was created by an unknown alien race millenia ago and they spawn in the various gaseous nebulas in Les Iban and Liloqua Quadrants. They are regularly used as transports by the Atorians and even prison ships used to move their cargo of captives from different sites. In order to ensure loyalty, these Craydor are often fitted with a control collar in order to restrict their actions and independence. These large creatures are often described as being a biomechanoid vessel, that are effectively a living creature. They are distinctively divided into two genders, namely male and female. Typically, a Craydor enters into a symbiotic union with a species known as Pilots who sit in a permanent fixed state in a central hub onboard the vessel. Despite this being the case, it is possible to cede manual control to any crew of the ship. Furthermore, these living vessels are known to also rely on crewmembers in a mutual symbiotic relationship. There are Six Forbidden Cargoes that these living ships cannot carry since they affect their internal organic processes. The single defensive maneuver that Craydor are capable of accomplishing was Starburst but once made, it cannot be re-initiated until it has restored their energy reserves, which often take hours.

Crime World: heavily populated planets have a hard time policing their populations, thus the moniker "crime world". This is also a derogatory word on many low-pop worlds: "crime!"

Crossroads Station: is huge commercial space station that is located in empty space in the middle of a cluster of minor star nations on the fringe of FAR space. Its central location makes it a natural stop for freight and passenger interchange, resulting in a hub and spoke system serving all nearby worlds in this corner of the Liloqua Quadrant. Over a hundred thousand people are permanent residents of Crossroads and it has extraterritoriality from any local government.

CVH: Heavy Combat Carrier......built at the Harn Shipyards. MORE HERE SOON

Daibei: a jumbo-sized habitable world that is ten times larger than Earth MORE HERE SOON

Darkness Weapons: a newly formed company located within the FAR, Darkness Weapons has innovated many new and successful hand weapons, including high-end graser and maser weapons. The company is fully owned by Jay-Allen Dark, a military innovator from the high-population world Spektor.

Datasphere: the orbital network around a planet; nearly all technologically-capable worlds have built these vast computer networks for economic and military purposes. Also called a "infosphere", Interlink, the Worldwide Web, the Internet, etc.

Daxian: a high-tech humanoid race within the Federation of Allied Races (FAR), the Daxians have colonized several dozen worlds within the boundaries of the FAR, mainly near their homeworld of Daxia Prime. The total population of Daxians hovers around 300 billion sentients. For many years now, the influence of the Daxians on FAR politics has been at best a lackluster one. The super-advanced Daxians have rarely requested aid or cultural or technological data, nor had they offered any of their own unless specifically prompted by other FAR members to do so. The Daxian Ambassadors had continually abstained from nearly every vote and rarely ventured an opinion in general discussions within the Council at all. Recently, however, the prominent Daxians have dramatically altered their working relationship with the FAR. The Daxian representatives on the Council are now quite vocal concerning matters of military security in regards to the Atorian Empire. They are becoming actively involved in the military aspects of the FAR armed forces, flooding the FAR Navy with a dozen new advanced battleships every month. Currently, the head of the FAR Council is a Daxian, Janty Yates.

Destruction of Llyra: a neutral high-population world located within the boundaries of the FAR, this  planet was destroyed in 972 IR (resulting in the deaths of over 10 billion people), dragging the FAR into the War of Sandusky Succession.

Dianus Plague: a virulent and deadly viral outbreak that occurred within the core worlds of the Viltrumite Empire from 102 to 125 IR which virtually cut off the central world of Viltrum from its colony worlds during the Quarantine. During this period, around twelve billion persons contracted the disease, all of who died horribly. This event forced the development of the Empires' initial bioweapons programs and the construction of its very first Interlink system.

Diet, the: a deadly terrorist group from the high-population world Mycos, the Diet are anti-technologist fanatics that regularly target immortal "methuselahs" for murder and/or blackmail. Their leadership is unknown and they are a relatively new group that have only recently popped up on police radar for their nefarious deeds. Their claims to fame are the high-level assassination of the methuselah CEO Hiro Tanaka of Bandiwortz Megacorporation and the recent blackmail attempts against the Newukorra government, in which billions of dollars of information was digitally held for ransom (which was eventually paid).

Dionii: the Dionii are a devastating hive mind race that has plagued the Milky Way Galaxy for tens of thousands of years. Their unique technology, high-population worlds, and genocidal tactics have withstood their neighbors best efforts to eliminate them. This race of man-sized intelligent insects seek to learn all super-advanced weapons technology. They loathe humans and humanoids (as well as all animal life), using them for slaves, playthings, food, and experimentation and their cruelty is nearly as legendary as the Laowan Tyranny’s. The Dionii are devastatingly ruthless, methodical creatures that engage in the conflicts of war as a way of life. Their empire comprises thousands of worlds and is located adjacent to the expanding Atorian Empire. Word has it that the evil Atorians are working on a devastating biological weapon to wipe out the trillions of Dionii before their next Expansion Phase, which would obviously spark a massive retaliatory genocidal attack by the belligerent Dionii.

Dis Technology: these nanonic warheads are the bane of modern warfare and were banned eighty years ago at the Third Disarmament Conference between the Viltrumite Empire and the Altess Dynasty. Dis is a devastating substance, the culmination of centuries of nanotech development and military research. The substance is composed of trillions of disassembling nanobots, microscopic in size and destructive in action. Dis dissolves organic materials, anything organic including human flesh with incredible rapidity. When a warship is hit with a dis warhead, the nanobots go to work immediately, disassembling the ship in minutes into a grayish goo. Dis achieves its greatest horror when used against planetary targets, dissolving everything on the planet’s surface; cities, oceans, and people. Quarantines must be maintained around dis-enveloped worlds, otherwise it spreads rapidly like a cancer across the star lanes. Since over 800 billion people have been killed and 33 worlds rendered uninhabitable, all stellar nations have permanently banned dis technology. Rumors of secret warheads within the Viltrumite Empire (ostensibly for strategic deterrence) have never been substantiated.

Earth: located in the backwater Ilta Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy, this planet has little appeal to most space faring people; it is comparatively low-tech, politically divided, socially unstable, and has the x-factor of being populated by a number of superhumans. However, humans have a surprising warp rating of 4, making them very useful for shock troops when combined with transit wormholes. It is nominally protected by the Korvus Treaty.

Ectogenesis: is the creation of sentient life within artificial wombs. Some interstellar nations allow their military to create vast standing armies of warriors that have little or no rights as citizens; a large underclass within the military, these super-soldiers (also called “tanks”) can suddenly become a serious liability. Many advanced societies within the Milky Way Galaxy use this type of birth method, while lower tech worlds rely on the traditional in-womb practice. The Atorian term for these types of incubators are "genesis chambers".

Fanrats: a large group of semi-nomadic pirates who have engaged in all-out raids against the Atorian Empire, the Fanrats currently are located on the Hogg Moons and are made up of numerous races who have grievances against the Atorians. They have hundreds of spacecraft capable of raiding deep into Atorian space and are deadly enemies of the Empire.

Fabber: a high-tech 3D replicator, fabbers that create food are called "foodies". The fabricators use powdered metal, plastic, or ceramics to rapidly "print" out parts and models. This process is usually subjected to a chemical/heat curing process, and the final product is then ready to use. Optical light can also be used to "cure" products being made. The fabrication process is not a perfect science: the copies are not generally as strong as the original but the ability to create any spare part while in the field makes them incredibly useful. On high law worlds that use fabrication machines most fabbers have controls built-in to their firmware to prevent them from being used to make parts for weapons. Of course, military-grace fabbers do not have these constraints, and fetch excellent prices on the black market. Other types of fabbers are food and pharma-fabbers, bio-fabbers (for body part replacements), and molecular or nanofabbers.

FAR Civilian HQ: the political leadership of the Federation of Allied Races meets primarily on the city-planet Urbanos; population 1 trillion. It is located far away from the front lines of any potential conflict with the Atorian Empire. Urbanos is a critically important world, it has some of the heaviest military defenses in the galaxy.

FAR Marines: the premier armed forces of the Federation of Allied Races, these troopers are trained to fight on the ground and in space. Some use specialized (and very expensive) power armor while others focus on raids and orbital insertions. The troops that succeed in getting through boot camp on the grueling training world of Slaughterhouse go onto become embassy guards, act as ships' police, drop commandos, and planetary assault forces. They also secure enemy vessels that surrender, lead rescues from space wrecks, and ensure the security of strategic weapons (WMD) on board warships. FAR Marines are prized for their skills, abilities, and tactical mobility.

FAR Military HQ: the military leadership of the FAR is located on the military moon Tilinor Minor, based in the Centaurus Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. The moons' offensive and defensive weapons are incredibly formidable, with only the ultra-tech Perolan Homeworld having more advanced defenses. While the FAR military leadership is situated here in peacetime, in wartime they will be cleverly dispersed across a dozen (top secret) locations around the Federation, mainly to avoid a decapitation strike by the Atorian Empire.

Federation of Allied Races (FAR): this vast interstellar organization is a conglomeration of hundreds of alien races that have joined together in fear of being conquered by the neighboring Atorian Empire. The FAR is located mostly within the Liloqua Quadrant. Dozens of alien races that have been subjugated by the aggressive Atorians have found refuge in the neighboring FAR and many of these groups work (unrealistically) towards the freedom of their homeworlds. The FAR has given its members unprecedented peace, security, and cooperation and it maintains a large fleet of warships near the joint FAR/Atorian Border, a fleet called "The Line". Sadly, these thousands of FAR military vessels would not be able to stop a determined Atorian Empire from invading, but for now it has proven to be a worthwhile deterrent in the eyes of the FAR political and military leadership.

Felder Reach: the region of space located between the FAR  and the Tagoniglomerate (or TGE) space. It is a joint area of colonization and resource development between the two friendly powers. Tens of thousands of unclaimed habitable worlds are located within the Reach.

FGU: flame generation unit MORE HERE SOON

Foodies: these are an advanced machine that can rapidly convert nearly any organic substance into edible food, removing harmful toxins and viruses, and add in any necessary vitamins and nutrients. As long as there is a source of compatible organics, food can be created indefinitely, although its store of vitamin supplements will eventually run out. Foodies can synthesize additives and coloring to anything it creates. The processor can also distill simple organic compounds, like alcohol. Foodies are available on most interstellar-capable planets and range in technology and capabilities from the low-end to the high-end. Also known as "fabbers".

Galactic Alliance (GAC): a small alliance of worlds located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. Most members of the GAC lean heavily towards the FAR, and strongly against the Atorian Empire. Some of the more important worlds within the GAC are Parelli, Piaffki, Santanni, and Escobar.

Gelform Robots: initially invented by the Tagoniglomerate, these multiuse robots have spread across much of the galaxy because of their usefulness, their compactness for shipping, and their cheap production price. The basic gelbot is less than 3 inches wide. It's the galaxy's first completely soft, autonomous, and untethered robot. It is free of wires, batteries, and any hard material; it has no internal skeleton. Gelform robots at higher tech levels are biocompatible and biodegradable and are primarily used for repair starships.

Generation Ship: a spaceship where generations of sentient beings live and die as they move between worlds. They are generally huge and have significant populations and spacious living quarters.

Gol Pact: a small alliance of worlds located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. A neutral power with significant economic clout. Some of the more important worlds within the Pact are Cap Bel, Halstansir, and Nilsson.

Gorbonduc Vandal: a group of semi-nomadic but incredibly violent pirates infesting Liloqua Quadrant with hundreds of space ships. Large groups of these "Vandals" are moving across whole sectors of space, raping and pillaging as they go and their movement patterns are taking them directly into the Atorian Empire. They are known for successfully raiding the corporate world Wayfare, causing enormous destruction to that high population planet. Also called "Gorbies".

Golgan Republik: this once-powerful interstellar empire is slowly falling apart and has become the galaxies' premier laughing-stock. With over a thousand worlds under its sway, more and more planets are leaving the Republik for better horizons. It is (unluckily) located between the FAR and the aggressive Atorian Empire and will surely be a warzone in any upcoming war between the two. It is a war the Golgans are utterly unprepared for.

Grizzellans: a massively built bear-like race from the Torsee Provinces, Grizzellans are much larger than most other sentients, weighing in at over 800 kg and having an aggressive personality. Grizzellans can sometimes be volatile towards alien races and are not seen off world very often. Grizzellans can hibernate for long periods of time when necessary. The Grizzellans have an odd homeworld covered completely by land (no seas or oceans) and large deep forests: the population lives on top of the giant trees. They make excellent FAR Marines and commandos. The Grizzellans  were uplifted to sentience by the Tolats.

Gunboats: a fast and heavily armed small craft that can pass through a warp point on their own, gunboats were originally created by the insectoid Arachnids and did terrible damage to Federation of Allied Races Navy and other allied warships during both the First and Second Arachnid Wars. Other interstellar nations have slowly adopted their use, but only in small numbers; the Gorm however enthusiastically embraced them. Even the Reformers readily adopted them since they needed only a small crew to operate the craft. Currently, dozens of races now use these fast strike craft, including the Crucians, the FAR, and several of the Orion Cantons. Updated gunboats can still cause extreme damage to smaller warships.

Hacksaw: these are one of the many human names for enemy AI-controlled combat robots, which usually fighting hand-to-hand against all organic life forms. They are utterly deadly and are usually found in and around the ancient techno-fossil sites.

Halstansir: a heavily populated city-planet that specializes in AIs, high-end weaponry, and other exotic items, it is a neutral world that is associated with the Outworlds Alliance and a member of the Gol Pact. More than a trillion sentient beings call this planet home and is also known as one of the highest tech worlds in the Milky Way Galaxy. Unfortunately, Halstansir has the sad distinction of being located in the turbulent region between the FAR and the Atorian Empire.

Harn Shipyards: a extremely large space station stationed in the Akwaterra Star System (FAR), the Harn Shipyards developed the new Heavy Combat Carrier (CVH) and dozens have been produced there to date.

Heavyworlder: the Heavyworlder is a sentient being that is adapted to life in a high-gravity environment — either a human being who has been altered to survive through genetic engineering or an alien who evolved on such a world in the first place.

Helenium: a type of quantum-mineral that is vital for paraspace travel and it is only found in Kittani Empire. Helenium powers their dimensional-warships as well as hides their critical military infrastructure deep within the energetic particles of paraspace.

Helios Micro-Universe: a small sub-universe that lays in parallel to the Milky Way Galaxy, it has a seven light year radius and is comprised of five stars. Spinning slowly, Helios is the home of the Neeten race and is connected to our galaxy by a single guarded wormhole.

Helleye, The: located in Liloqua Quadrant, the Helleye us similar to the Pistol Star: it is a massive hypergiant star that is nearly 1,000 times larger than Earth's Sol. Barely held together by its own gravity, the Helleye is very unstable. Every few weeks large sheets of matter erupt from the star, breaking free from the gravity of the Helleye. Each of these "sheets" weigh hundreds of times more than Sol. If it were to hypernova, the Helleye would certainly make large swaths of Liloqua Quadrant sterile.

Hermat Alliance: part of the Virh Federation, the Hermat are an average race that are highly scientifically adroit and are known as profound thinkers. Being tall humanoids (7') and having ruddy brown skin and black hair, Hermats wear their hair long to signify life, with warriors in the military cutting their hair shortly. A very large number of Hermats live on Mycos, over 200 billion all told, which is a huge majority living outside Hert space. The Hermat make poor space crewman but remain devoted to the scientific fields.

Hert Federation: a medium-sized empire of over 500 worlds, many of which are former Golgan planets. The Hert are a minor-MDC humanoid species that get along well with other races, except their neighbors the Dionii and the Atorians. They have allied themselves with many races within the FAR as well as the nearby Virh nation, and they have been fighting a genocidal conflict with the Dionii for hundreds of years now, slowly losing ground to the innumerable bugs.

Hogg Moons: headquarters of the the infamous Fanrats, a pirate group that continually raids the Atorian Empire. The Hogg Moons location is secret but is thought to orbit a gas giant in the border regions of the Empire. The Atorians are willing to pay a high price for the co-ordinates of these pirate moons.

Hologhost: many modern space navies prefers face-to-face meetings of its top command staffs but during wartime this can be unfeasible. It can be dangerous to have all your command staff at one location in a combat area, but meetings and coordinating attacks must still be planed and disseminated. Computer-generated “hologhosts” of various ships' captains and command staff can be projected onto a flagship for these electronic meetings instead, especially if a warship is too far distant to physically attend a tactical meeting or planning session.

Holots: a client race of the Hert race, these are large aquatic aliens that are excellent psionic masters and they work well with technology. They are huge, weighing on average 500lbs.

Hudlar: are an ancient species of physically massive, hyper-intelligent aliens. The Hudlar are extremely advanced, both technologically and evolutionarily and they are the implacable enemies of the Atorian Empire. They've attempted to destroy the Atorians several times (without success) but then they finally settled into a cold-war posture and began just observing the Empire (for over a thousand years now). Their home planet is a heavy-gravity (4G) world with an atmospheric pressure nearly seven times Terran normal. Hudlarians possess six short, thick appendages which serve as both arms and legs and have a hide like flexible armor plate. Adult Hudlar weigh in the region of two tons, possess an incredibly hard but flexible skin, which protects them from their own native planets' pressure and allows them to live and work comfortably in any atmosphere of lesser pressure down to and including the vacuum of space. In addition they have the highest radiation tolerance level of any known race. Hudlarians look similar to Terran elephants and absorb food directly thru their skin from the thick, soupy atmosphere of their planet.

Humans in Space: nearly 2,000 years ago Pibo slavers raided Earth, taking tens of thousands of Greeks and Italians into space as slaves. Now, millions of their descendants ply the space lanes as independent spacers and adventurers. While they have completely lost their languages, they still retain much of their culture, including food. Thus, on many major planets in Liloqua Quadrant you can find Greek and Italian restaurants.

Ilta Quadrant: with the exception of the Les Iban Quadrant, which is dominated by the aggressive Atorian Empire, the Quadrants of the Milky Way Galaxy are relatively open and free to travelers. Since space is so large it would require a mammoth amount of time, manpower, and resources to close off any significant amount of space, although the Atorian Empire has done the most work in controlling their space perimeters. Boundaries and borders in the Milky Way Galaxy are more a matter of travel, navigation, trade, and diplomacy, than they are  physical reality. This is especially true of the fairly under-populated Itla region, which is also the location of Earth. Other than the Thissera-Micean Cooperative (TMC), there are no large empires in the Quadrant.

Iron Belt Worlds: a series of heavily industrialized (and armed) worlds located in the center of the FAR, these planets produce an enormous amount of military equipment and armed warships, including their immense war-spheres.

Janty Yates: the extremely popular President of the FAR, he is a Daxian and has clawed his way up from a street urchin on a heavily overpopulated planet to one of the most powerful political positions in the Milky Way Galaxy. He has been cloned several times and uses his "alts" for PR visits in and around FAR space.

Javijerra: high-population world in the FAR MORE HERE SOON

JDV: Jumper Delivery Vehicle  MORE HERE SOON

Jinx, The Egg Planet: a high-population world located in the crucial Nogo Zone, Jinx has recently discovered it has several significant problems. First, as a consequence of its government-enforced one-child policy, many children are indulged by their parents and by two sets of grandparents with money and freedom, both of which have been used by many to experiment with drugs. Second, the the current government (the left-leaning Democratic Party) on Jinx has never commanded a significant popular following, and it has gained and retained power only through intrigue and coup. As a result, Jinx has had to cope with endemic internal disorder for last forty years and suffering a high inflation and a plummeting GDP as well. Finally, Jinx's federal armed forces have been partially corrupted by drug traffickers but its paramilitary forces are steadily increasing to fight the drug lords. Jinx is a unique egg-shaped planet populated by 10 billion people.

Kill Cult: a deadly fame-seeking terrorist group with nihilists beliefs. First identified on the high population world Mycos nearly 80 years ago, Kill Cultists have spread to dozens of worlds (mainly high-pop) and are the bane of law enforcement officials everywhere. Kill Cultists try and “rack up” as many bodies as possible before they are killed. They follow a few rules: all “kills” must be by hand or something made by hand (ie a bomb). Although nuclear or bioweapons haven’t been used yet, many government officials fear just that and have totally banned all Kill Cults on any human world, everywhere. These thrill killers usually do not survive their “spree” but if they do they are automatically sentenced to death by Mycos law. The sentence is usually carried out within days to stunt the individuals’ popularity among his/her group, a policy that appears to be working. Kill cultists are almost exclusively young underperforming humanoid males.

Kisents: a vegetable race located in the region between the Federation of Allied Races (FAR) and the Atorian Empire, the Kisents discovered and perfected the process for forging metals using high technology (laser forge), creating the first kisentite weapons. As a result, the metal known as kisentite is named after these weapons. The Kisent logo on any weapon insures high quality, durability, and extravagant price. Unfortunately their homeworld is in danger of being absorbed by the Atorian Empire during their future Expansion Phase, cutting off at least 1/3rd of their revenue stream (aka the FAR). The leadership of the FAR has strongly encouraged the Kisents to avoid "joining" the Empire but any planet that receives such an invitation and turns it down is immediately invaded by the Atorians. Despite their massive manufacture of weaponry, their armed forces are no larger than the average interstellar race, and thus the Kisents are most likely going to accept the Atorian Empires' overture when it comes.

Kisentite Weaponry: of all the sword and blade makers in the Milky Way Galaxy, none can compare to the sharpness and durability (and cost) of the Kisent race. These hand-to-hand weapons are in heavy demand and the Kisents sell them to anyone and everyone. Kisentite weaponry can only be made on the Kisent homeworld due to it being the only location of this metal, and their secret production using laser forging. The Kisents produce a massive amount of these weapons and sell more than a 1/3rd to the Federation of Allied Races and nearly a 1/3rd to the Atorian Empire.

Kittani: the Kittani are a technologically advanced race from another dimension. They are incredibly inventive, resourceful, brilliant, and aggressive. However, they eventually ran across the Mechanoids and were nearly annihilated during that conflict. In fact, the seven year war that ensued was one of the most extensive and cataclysmic battles the Mechanoids had ever waged. But in the end the Kittani fell, as had all others. Luckily, a final fleeing Kittani armada filled with refugees was swallowed up by a wormhole as it was trying to escape an encroaching Mechanoid fleet. Saved from the brink of destruction by this dimensional opening, the Kittani found a new homeworld in the Milky Way Galaxy and have begun repopulating their peoples. They now have a small but prosperous empire located near Viltrumite space. Neither the Viltrumites nor Kittani get along well, having fought several serious conflicts over border worlds; now both are in a state of cold war with one another. Kittani space is close to the Federation of Allied Races and they are currently considering joining the FAR.

Klytos: a massive city-planet located deep within the FAR, it has over 5 trillion in population and has serious internal problems, including nearly 1 trillion unemployed citizens. Any crimes (even the smallest and most insignificant) are grounds for exile into the Feldar Reach as unwilling colonists.

Knnn: alien race MORE HERE SOON

Korel Empire Collapse: the Korel were the Thanagarians very first allies. The human-like Korel’s collapse started the first regional conflict with the Dionii, who had been invading and ravaging Korel space for nearly a hundred years before the Thanagarians made contact with the Empire. This devastating conflict annihilated most Korel worlds and the Thanagarian Navy cut its teeth during this war.

Korvus Treaty: a interstellar agreement between most major space-going nations. The treaty was designed to protect "younger" species from exploitation by existing interstellar powers. It creates a 10 light year radius around a new species homeworld that cannot be exploited. These undeveloped races are not to be interfered with until they develop a FTL system on their own. The Atorian Empire is the only major power that has refused to sign the Korvus Treaty.

Krakyt: these aliens a important insectoid race that number in the trillions. They occupy hundreds of worlds in the Milky Way Galaxy; on both sides of both the Atorian Empire and the FAR. Their homeworld is a violent pyroclastic volcano world which has forced them to evolve into a powerfully armored species; it is located in FAR space.

Kuiper Knights: these soldiers are a freelance group of general-purpose mercenary assholes who operate on the fringes of the Chigogi Neutral Zone. Dirty deeds done for the highest bidder: they’ll do anything for a handful of credits. They also hire out as security forces for survey missions and miners, and then jump the more profitable claims. Alot of ex-military dropouts are Kuiper Knights. They follow their own weird pseudo-religion which basically means they’re a cult, a heavily armed cult.

Lemit: MORE HERE SOON

Leng Miirch Incident: MORE HERE SOON

Les Iban Quadrant: this area of the Milky Way Galaxy is almost completely dominated by the notorious female-dominated Atorian Empire. The Empire itself is so large that it has been divided into six different regions, each administered by a Atorian Princess and her government at a Throneworld. No one knows for certain exactly where these Throneworlds are located, let alone where their original home world was located. In addition, six different times in the past the Atorian Empire has  gone through a military Expansion Phase, gobbling up large portions of the Milky Way Galaxy, the last of which stopped just short of the Liloqua Quadrant and the Federation of Allied Races (FAR). Much of the galaxy nervously hopes it will be their last. Les Iban is the most prosperous and ordered of the Milky Way Quadrants, but it can have some of the galaxys' most intense (although brief) fighting as rebel factions continue to battle for the freedom of their planets, as well as dissidents, smuggles, and other enemies of the Empire dare to breach the Atorian boundaries to plunder the Imperial government.

Lightworlder: opposite of Heavyworlder; someone who has grown up in a lighter gravity (or no-gravity) environment. They are unable to withstand "normal" gravity that the average human does.

Lightning Brothers: a fanatical secular group with strong terrorist leanings, these anti-religious radicals are spread across a dozen worlds in and around Kobra Sector. They typically attack small religious groups and recently assassinated the the ePope of Saraway.

Liloqua Quadrant: Liloqua is the second most organized and stable of the four quadrants of the Milky Way Galaxy. This is mostly due to the presence of the neighboring Atorian Empire and the fear it generates. That atmosphere of anxiety is what has brought the advanced races of the quadrant together in an attempt to oppose or deter the activities of the Empire by forming the Federation of Allied Races (FAR). This has formed the need to band together to forge trade agreements, trade routes, political and military alliances, and an atmosphere of mutual respect and support across most of the inhabited system of the quadrant. MORE HERE SOON

Lindstur: a independent city-planet with an enormous population (1+ trillion), it is located in the strategic zone between the clashing FAR and Atorian Empire. Lindstur is a huge financial/banking center for the Liloqua Quadrant.

Litheen Pirates: this pirate group operates in the broad area of the Chigogi Neutral Zone and are better operated than most other groups of pirates. They sell the cargo, ships, and passengers when they capture them through a large and secure base of operations, turning their thievery into a thriving and profitable business.

Luuxir Border Region: MORE HERE SOON

Maker, the: this is a powerful alien being and it is the last of its race, able to destroy entire solar systems and create pocket dimensions at a whim! It apparently has a "hobby" of creating unique planetary biospheres and it is mostly seen in and around Wulfen space. The Maker is a "apex alien" with vast god-like powers, but it is fairly indifferent to most other galactic species. However, it is unlikely the Maker will be detached to Atorian encroachments to its area of influence.

Marauders, the: since time immemorial, the Marauders knifed through the Milky Way, preying upon the helpless and weak, glorifying in the degradation of all that was decent. The most demeaning acts were a source of extreme pleasure to them. As they crossed the galaxy, the Marauders studied the very souls of the alien races they stumbled upon, finding their innermost secrets, the hiding places of the terrors of racial memory, and using it against their captives. Once they took a planet of humanoids and cut off the hands and feet of every humanoid upon it, then released swarms of blood-seeking insects from a pestilential world. They danced in the blood as they recorded the screams of terror. Another time they burned out the eyes of every child on a world, after slaughtering their parents, then hunted down the blind creatures, torturing each captive so that the rest could hear their final drawn-out screams. At their hands, countless low-tech worlds were scorched into balls of bare glazed rock. All weaker forms of life paid the penalty of that weakness as they died under cold, uncaring stars. The Marauders considered the weak to be created for their perverted pleasure. Even the technologically superior races always turned out to have exploitable weaknesses. Glorying in their own poison, they have raged through the universe, setting their beacons of fear in sectors not yet thoroughly despoiled. Luckily, the last time anyone has seen a Marauder ship was in the corrupted Titrana Quadrant.

Marsbody: a Mars-like planet of low atmosphere and low gravity, and low temperature: usually a worthless planet.

MAT: this form of highly advanced nanotechnology is partially organic and can be "weaved" into a human body. Medinano-derived artificial tissue (or MAT) is often used when soldiers are injured and loose arms or legs; the MAT rebuilds them and infuses itself into the bone structure, muscles, and blood system. These replaced legs look, act, and feel like normal organic legs and they can also be controlled by implants within the users body. Also, for short periods of time they can boost normal strength and endurance, letting a person run farther and jump higher. MAT can also shut down pain or exhaustion in the limbs it is intertwined with, and also automatically shuts off excessive bleeding in the equipped appendages. MAT is primarily a military nanotech, although mercenaries, adventurers, and others have been known to equip themselves with it before journeying out amongst the stars.

Mehrians: a empathic humanoid race, they make excellent policemen since they can read the feelings of other races as well as their own. Since they have powerful psi powers, they are often hired by many races (including the FAR) for police services.

Methuselah: using advanced medical techniques and nanotechnology, the lifespan of a sentient being can be extended for thousands of years or more. On the city-planet Mycos these people are referred to as Methuselahs. Using their immense advantages of retarding growing old and retaining immense knowledge, Methuselahs' can accumulate enormous amounts of money and power. Although the oldest known Methuselah is almost 7,000 years old, most do not live that long, perishing due to accidents, wars, murders, or just plain ennui. MORE HERE SOON

Methuselah Ship: a spaceship piloted by long-lived or immortal humans. They may only have a handful of occupants but most of these types of spaceships oversee a large number of sleeping colonists, eager for a new world.

Miceans: the planet Minas is a large dark globe covered in a perpetual rain of volcanic ash and toxic gases and is the homeworld of the Micean race. They have a chiseled stone appearance and are generally friendly, often brash, and always competitive. Their racial education focuses on history, politics, and combat and military. Miceans also have a notorious need for attention that is a mile long. Ironically, the Micean race came to eventually realize that their eternal quest for challenge and glory could be fulfilled on a daily basis by becoming heroes! To implement this, they decided to forma galactic police force to defend the weak and protect the helpless. They would fend off pirates, repel invaders, dethrone tyrants, and enforce the rule of law. To better facilitate the salvation of the galaxy, they invited their long-time rivals (the Thisserans) to join them in this bold venture (which they did). They both launched the a galactic agency to fulfill their goal, the Thissera-Micean Cooperative (or TMC). Together the Miceans and Thisserans have made the TMC a force to be reckoned with and on several occasions have even stood up to the Atorian Empire, even though 95% of the TMCs operational area is in the region of the Milky Way Galaxy that the planet Earth is in. MORE HERE SOON

Mmm: this extremely unique alien race is the Federation of Allied Races' (FAR) ace in the hole when it comes to confronting the Atorian Empire...MORE HERE SOON

Mithridates System: one of the most strategically important star systems in the Milky Way Galaxy, it is the location of the Mithridates Wormhole Junction which enables space going vessels to instantly traverse vast distances across the galaxy using one of its many naturally-occurring wormhole terminus'. Located within the Federation of Allied Races (FAR) territory, Mithridates is strongly allied to the FAR and may eventually become a member of the Federation. In recent months the dynasty that runs Mithridates has banned all Atorian owned and flagged vessels from transiting its wormholes due to the continuing deteriorating political and military situation between the Atorian Empire and the FAR. To maintain its neutrality, Mithridates is also one of the most heavily armed star systems in the galaxy.

Mithridates Wormhole: this stellar phenomenon is the only naturally occurring wormhole network known to exist. With six different exit termini that span across the Milky Way Galaxy, it is a strategic gateway that earns vast amounts of money for its owner, the Star Kingdom of Mithridates.

Mother Murder: a leader of a deadly anti-Methuselah terrorist group, she is thought to be female but nothing else known about her. She is nearly a complete mystery to law enforcement officials. Mother Murder seems to be the top leader of the biological fundamentalist movement on Mycos and her group is very effective in targeting and killing Methuselah leaders.

Mulligan's Travelling Pet Menagerie: owned by an enterprising fellow (Michael-Morgan Mulligan), this travelling pet show roams only within the FAR section of the Milky Way Galaxy. Mulligan sells genetically modified pets that are displayed during his pet show, which is wildly popular on low-tech worlds: ie planets with few entertainments. His travels also enable Mulligan to illegally trade various drugs and cures for diseases.

Musa-Bi System Disaster: for decades the federal government of the FAR worried about the polar caps on this world, which had rapidly increased in size and created a significant planetary wobble. Many Federation scientists thought the planet wouldn't shift on its' axis due to the ice build-up, and all FAR officials were surprised when it did exactly that in 1285 IR. A Federation science team that was at the planets' northern pole when it shifted perished. The planetary government collapsed under hurricane winds and massive tidal waves which laid waste to the entire planet, killing all 12 billion inhabitants. Recriminations abounded within the FAR government but later the gold in Musa-Bi's treasury was taken off-planet and distributed to the survivors.

Mycos: a city-planet with over 20 trillion citizens, it is the largest populated planet in the Milky Way Galaxy and as such has tremendous economic clout. Mycos is located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire and tries to maintain a unsteady neutrality in galactic affairs. However, the planetary government has continually been unable to address many issues that plague the planet, including hundreds of billions of unemployed people.

Nogo Zone: this region of space is highly militarized and patrolled by several major galactic powers. It is sandwiched between the Wulfen Empire, the Atorian Empire, and the Federation of Allied Races (FAR). MORE HERE SOON

Octopi: a major race in the Milky Way Galaxy, they are widely known as Liars among the interstellar community because of their inability to tell the truth on all subjects. Unlike humans, when Octopoids are born, they don’t have a long period of helplessness. They come out of birthing-pods nearly two-thirds of their adult size (barring post-birth alterations), and since Octopoids are capable of passing on collective memories, once the new borns (the kindlings) are fed the right neural buds, they know things – like how to feed themselves, sure, but also the history of the Octopoid people. The Liars can generate wormholes, create artificial gravity, disassemble planets into raw materials, control inertia, and manipulate minds. Liars also live centuries, but not millennia, though their ability to share memories with their offspring does let them take a long view of things.

Omega Battery: location of strategic weapons (WMD) on a warship, and rarely used. These ultra-deadly warheads can be anything from antimatter, protomatter, teraton or dis warheads, or planet/sunkiller weapons. Most interstellar navies have capital ships that mount Omega Batteries; they are never found on smaller warships.

Omega Protocol: a secret military order that is rarely implemented within the FAR Navy, one that requires naval warships to physically ram an enemy ship: only used in the worst possible battle situations. All ship captains in the Navy know about this ultimate order; Admirals may ask for volunteers to ram using the Omega protocol but they can also order certain ships to do so if necessary. This military protocol has not been tested to date.

Otoni III: a independent world that is also the capital of the Otoni Sector, a region of space located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. Otoni III is an immense city-planet with a population of more than 10 trillion people. As such, it is a huge market for trade goods, foodstuffs, and weapons due to its enormous population.

Outworlds Alliance (OA): a small alliance of worlds located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. The OA consists of a dozen major worlds and three dozen minor ones and is unofficially allied with the FAR. Some of the more important worlds within the AO are Mycos, Santanni, and Hilversun.

Pada-Pada Prison: MORE HERE SOON

Paraspace: a unique dimension located "below" our own, paraspace is a region of unstable quantum energy that can be traveled through, but it is dangerous and only a few ultra-high-tech alien races know of and can travel through this chaotic region.

Perola: this alien race is a driving force in the FAR and have the greatest number of representatives on the Security Council. Their influence and power comes from what can only be called a peaceful Empire or Empire-by-choice. For centuries, the Perola have reached out to help and guide anyone who would let them. This has resulted in hundreds of planets that either willingly allow the Perola to govern them or rely on their advice. One bit of common advice offered by the Perola is to join the Federation of Allied Races, making the Perola the organization's greatest enrollment boosters. The strong but benign influence of these gentle aliens gives them a connection to hundreds of different people and planets within the FAR, most of whom think of them with fondness and high regard. Many even follow their lead in voting on issues, or ask for their advice.

Phorila: this planet is the homeworld of the vegetable aliens known as the Kisents, the developers of Kisentite weaponry. As a neutral power located in space near the Atorian Empire, the Kisents sell vast amounts of weaponry to both the FAR and Atorians. However, many observers believe that the Kisents are likely to be offered status as an allied race when the next Atorian Expansion begins, something that many fear they will accept. While the FAR works to pressure the Kisents to oppose the Atorians, Kisents are a very practical people and are unlikely to refuse a friendly invitation to join the mighty Empire. After all, those who reject such Imperial generosity usually have their world invaded and conquered.

Pinnacle Station: open to general traffic and commerce, this immense space station is one of a dozen located in the Chigogi Neutral Zone. While unaligned, it is strongly free-trade orientated and leans towards the FAR (and not the Atorian Empire, which restricts much trade).

Pitedii Frontier Zone: MORE HERE SOON

Pocket Universe: also known as pocket dimensions and baby universes; more than a dozen are known to exist within or parallel to the Milky Way Galaxy.

Poseidon: a independent waterworld located in the Torsee Provinces and the site of xenosilicates; aka Long John, a drug in heavy demand.

Presgar, the: alien race MORE HERE SOON

Quillip: a bird-like race who are strongly allied with the Thranx. Quillip are very advanced technologically and have shared their inventions with the Thranx, including gas giant ignition and megascale engineering.

Rabe, the: this alien race is one of the galaxies' most powerful telepaths. A Core Race, they are known for being incredibly insolent. Their psychic powers can reach across hundreds of light years!

Revivors: in some star systems, rogue nanotechnogy can run amok, causing serious damage and Revivors are one such problem. Borganisms often use Revivor nanotech to bring the dead back to life, making them part of their vast mindless armies. Revivors, however, do not have to be part of a Borganism to be dangerous. Even small groups of these nanotech-undead can infect larger populations and planets across the galaxy deal with this sort of outbreaks with deadly force as early as possible to prevent its spread. The last known Revivor outbreak was in the Torsee Provinces, on the planet Tobermory last year.

Riishi Maze: see HERE

Rol: is the home world of the Perola, a people who represent the ultimate in racial harmony. The Perola have attained a highly advanced state of cooperation and peace. There are no wars among the Perola and each of them treats every other person and race as an equal. The Perola have no secret potion or magic solution for their enlightened state, saying that it took many millennia of hard work, understanding, tolerance and awareness to attain their present state of peace and wisdom. Rumors about divine influence and powerful alien intelligences are common among off-worlders. The best planetary defense systems outside of the Empire are found at Rol. Defense systems that knock out guidance and navigation systems, neutralize nuclear devices and warp energy weapons (reducing their damage capacity and range by half), as well as energy deflection systems and tractor arrays that stop invading vessels in their tracks like flies caught in a spider's web. Force fields and other systems are also part of Rol's defense and why the planet has never been invaded in its six thousand year history as a modern galaxy spanning civilization.

Samozium: a vital mineral that is used for fusion reactor fuel; it extends the energy process threefold, making it heavily sought after. This alloy is only found on Otoni III, which sells it for enormous profits.

Santanni: this independent city-planet is a huge market for trade goods, foodstuffs, and weapons due to its enormous population (1+ trillion people). Santanni specializes in selling ultra-high tech medical supplies and very advanced small arms. The planet is located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire and is a member of the Sigil League and the GAK trade organization.

Sector General Hospital: located in FAR space, it is a hospital to end all hospitals--hundreds of different alien environments can be replicated at SGH; any extreme of heat, cold, pressure, gravity, radiation, and atmosphere necessary for the patients and staff it contains. SGH is a tremendous and complex structure built far beyond the resources of any one planet, so hundreds of nearby FAR worlds have fabricated sections of the hospital and transported them to the assembly point, which is located near the Goldfishhead Nebula.

Sentient Beings: these are any beings, organic or otherwise, including artificial intelligences that can feel and are self-aware. Most have some level of technology and tool-use.

September Family: rulers of the planet Pentaurus V and its colonies, this wealthy family has strong connections with the black market across a dozen sectors. A thuggish group of people that no one wants to double-cross, they are significantly involved in the Torsee Provinces as well. The most wanted man in the galaxy (by a dozen different policing organizations) is the patriarch of the family, Skua September.

Seti Slavers: this group chooses their prey carefully, seldom getting a haul that isn't easy to sell. They never bother capturing ships and never bother taking passengers unless they can bring a good price on the slave markets. They are also known to kill any crews that can identify them.

Shadow Empress: at the death of the first Empress Alimira Constance, a secret society within the Empire cloned her and began a shadow government. She and her genetically pure clones have ruled over a 1,000 years, directing a secret parallel government that is intent on bringing down the six "upstart" Duchesses and placing herself back on the ultimate throne of the Empire. Hundreds of years of stealthy sabotage and undermining of the Atorian government has yielded only moderate results. Luckily for the Shadow Empress, the rest of the Atorian Empire is unaware of the existence of this organization, the only group that could truly stop the Empires' inexorable march across the galaxy.

Shipping Council: is a quadrant-wide organization that is located within the FAR. It continually maintains logs of its members. It is an independent agency that administers exams, issues captain’s papers, and disciplines captains as required. Many neighboring star nations rely on the assessments of the Shipping Council.

Shriekers: a aggressive warrior race of bird-like aliens that inhabit a habitable gas torus (not a planet), the Shriekers have spent many years duking it out in a battle-royale with the nearby Wulfen Empire, a continual fight that is famous for its bloodthirstiness so that most aliens permanently stay away from the system. The Shrieker homeworld is a large asteroid belt that has a breathable atmosphere and the Shriekers have spent thousands of years "island hopping" from one cluster of asteroids to the next in a brutal and bloodthirsty war of survival for limited resources. When the Wulfen initially discovered the system, the Shriekers had very few real warships but lots of assault shuttles and staging bases. The warships they did have were small fast-moving assault carriers, and they were mainly focused on taking real estate within the system. Conquering them was a horrible nightmare for the Wulfen as the Shriekers were honorable but very effective close-in fighters and to a Shrieker passing up an unfair advantage is being disrespectful to your opponent. Finally, when the Wulfen Navy was brought in en mass, the fighting in the system escalated and then ultimately collapsed. Today, the Shriekers make very good shipboard security for the Wulfen Empire Navy; they love low grav worlds, doing very poorly on high-grav planets. Young Wulfen often enter the Shrieker home system to test their battle skills and build "character" to pass their Adolescent Test back in civilization. Finally, the Wulfen Empire see the Shriekers as true warriors and have raised them up to Honorable Race status within their Empire. Class X system: no entry.

Sigil League: a small alliance of worlds located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. A military-allied star nation that opposes the Atorians. Some of the more important worlds within the League are Ebosskil, Santanni, and the Frogstar System.

Sime/Gen Contact: in 1288 IR the FAR Exploratory Service stumbled onto a Earth-type planet called Nivet, home to a mutated race of humans. The vampiric Simes were at war with the selyn-producing Gens, brutally dividing the planet into Sime and Gen Territories. The Federation Diplomatic Corps intervened on the Gen side but eventually Sime/Gen Householdings, led by Householding Zeor, established a permanent peace on Nivet. Zeor Industries expanded to become a major cartel within the FAR and offworld Sime/Gen colonization across the subsector soon after.

Skyway: see HERE

Slaughterhouse: this militarily training world has a heavy jungle canopy and it is owned by the Federation of Allied Races (the FAR). It is also the location of all combat training for the FAR Marines: every recruit spends at least eight months on this world, learning about weapons, combat tactics, hand-to-hand combat techniques, and survivalism. For hundreds of years the marines have used the Slaughterhouse to train their most elite armed forces. The true size of the FAR Marine Force us secret but estimates vary around the 2,000,000 range.

Small Polities: these small organization of worlds are....MORE HERE SOON

Snapper Missiles: one of the more effective missiles used by the Federation of Allied Races, these types of weapons are especially effective against the Dionii. Snappers are sprint-mode missiles that cannot be stopped by starship point defenses and the Dionii have been helpless in thwarting them.

Star Hives: these deadly aliens are vaguely insectoid in form and behavior. This race is made up of several sub-species, each specializing to fulfill one role within the hive community. Biologically, the hivespawn have been discovered to be silicon-based creatures who do not need oxygen to survive. Little is known about their culture or goals because most contacts with the Star Hives have been violent. Every time a Star Hive has been detected in the Milky Way Galaxy it is attacked and obliterated without warning by all humanoid fleets in the area. Raids by the hivespawn have increased in numbers lately and someone has started circulating stories about a huge, moon-sized Mother Hive that can disgorge billions of warriors, able to overpower and eat an entire planet in a matter of hours. These rumors remain unconfirmed, but may be true. Luckily for the rest of the galaxy, they are mainly found within the Atorian Empires' space.

Strike Drones: for ground troops support MORE HERE SOON

Subspace: a region of non-space that some races in the Milky Way Galaxy travels through, it is one of the more faster ways to navigate across interstellar space.

Subspace Communications: in 905 IR the researcher Dr. Benjimin Blink of the Pike System discovered the unique properties of subspace and within a year had built the first known instantaneous galaxy-wide communications device. This incredible breakthrough of fast communication was a major innovation for the Federation of Allied Races. Immediately 'bought' by the FAR government and placed under high security, the subspace communicator has been a closely guarded state secret for 200 years and to this date only major planets and capital ships of the FAR Navy have subspace communications equipment.

Tagonicans: more than any other race in the galaxy, the Tagonican aliens have a huge economic impact on the Milky Way through their control of the mega-conglomerate TGE, also known as the Tagoniglomerate. Nearly all of these aliens are exclusively employed by the TGE and their homeworld is the planet Agika. They do business with nearly all the major powers in the galaxy. However, the aggressive Atorian Empire is wary of the size and influence of the Tagonicans and has made a strategic decision to keep the Tagoniglomerate at arms' length and is NOT one of their business partners. As a result of that and several key disagreements over economic issues in the Les Iban Quadrant, the Tagonicans have boycotted the expanding Atorian Empire and sided with the FAR for generations. They have also used their influence to foster fear and hate towards the Atorians and they also support their enemies. For many in the Milky Way, if the TGE says the Atorians are bad, dangerous, or evil, then they are. This decision by Tagonican leaders has made the Atorian Empire hate the TGE and considers it a hostile enemy to be hated and destroyed. Given the escalating situation, the top Tagonican leaders have decided to further disperse its operations across the galaxy and begin mass production of capital warships.

Tagoniglomerate: the galaxy's largest "company" is the Tagoniglomerate (or TGE). It produces nearly 19% of the galaxy's mass market technological goods, has a strong presence on 22% of the civilized worlds, and is a socio-economic entity in and of itself. It is owned and run by the Tagonican aliens and employs almost 85% of that race, as well as billions of aliens from other worlds. It is the largest corporation in the Milky Way Galaxy with operations in all four quadrants and on nearly one million planets scattered across 2100 sectors. When anyone in the galactic community things of marketing, big business, or economics, they think of the TGE. In sheer size it is larger than the TMC and the FAR combined, and rivals the Atorian Empire in sheer scope. However, it has substantially less military power than any of the other major interstellar nation. The TGE takes a strong stand against unduly pressuring the politics of others and makes a point of staying out of the government affairs of other worlds -- influencing their economics, however, is often another matter. (See the Aliens Unlimited Guide for more about this galaxy-spanning mega-corporation).

Tamaran: an independent world located between Golgan and Dionii space. This Earth-like world is inhabited by humanoids who can fly by utilizing solar energy and can fire bursts of energy from their hands, Tamaran is defended by heavy orbital defenses against the Dionii Empire and has waged a continual war against the bug-like aliens for centuries. Nearly 5 billion people inhabit this planet, which is considered a luxurious world by many. Tamaran is allied with the nearby Thangarian Empire.

Tamfolly: a race of microscopic intelligent viruses which inhabit humanoid hosts, the friendly Tamfolly live several thousand years and pass on their growing knowledge to their host bodies. Their homeworld is located somewhere within the Liloqua Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy (FAR space), and they are responsible for some of the galaxies' most advanced technology break throughs due to their long-term racial memory.

Techno-Recency: a term for how technically updated a warship is. In the FAR Navy, all vessels are classified with this techno-standard. Also known as a TR Rating.

Class 1 (brand spanking new)
Class 2 (moderately useful)
Class 3 (grossly outdated)

Techno-fossil: located all over the Milky Way Galaxy are numerous fossilized remains of a dozen different alien cultures. Most of these items are technological in form and some are very advanced (and dangerous). These sorts of technofossils are usually turned over to specialists who can handle these devices. In fact, a recent techno-fossil find almost destroyed the entire Hubri race when a lethal planetary-wide nanite swarm operated by an ancient AI was awoken in the Beta Lemnoris system and began to rapidly spread. Luckily it was later disabled by Tolat intervention.

Terraforming: this is the process of turning a planet into an environment that is suitable for life. MORE HERE SOON

Terraforming Fungus: MORE HERE SOON

Terrene Worlds: MORE HERE SOON

Tertellian Empire: a species that has clashed with the FAR, and lost, several times. They are a bipedal amphibian species with bulbous eyes, bulky bodies, and tapir-like snouts that waggle when they speak. The Tertellian Empire sparked the War of Imporzei, unifying the FAR in a way never before seen, to the consternation of the Atorians. They also recently started (and lost) the Second Tertellian War against the FAR.

Tethys: an ancient and powerful Core Race known for their telepathic prowess and racial militancy. In the past, unstoppable moon-sized Tethys battleships once policed the Milky Way Galaxy for thousands of years, prohibiting the use of genocide and the use of WMD weapons, as well as other forms of planetary extermination (on pain of ultimate sanctioning). In this role, the Tethys were able to halt hundreds of atrocities across the stars for millennia until around 500 years ago, when they suddenly stopped all their patrols and retreated back into the Core of the Galaxy for some unknown reason. Recently, the FAR has been trying to spur the Tethys leadership back into galactic policing, a role they once had performed so successfully. To this day, murderous races still fear the Tethys, and for good reason.

Thanagarian Empire: this race is a powerful warlike society of winged humanoids who possess super-science. Their militant aggressiveness is the only reason they haven't been smashed into oblivion between the two larger empires next to them, the Dionii and the Atorians. Constant raids by both races has also kept the Thanagarians on a war-footing for many years, and explains much of their super-advanced military weaponry. The Thanagarian Empire is also in an official state of war with the Dionii and only their mastery of the Boom Tubes has allowed them to survive and thrive in the face of these mighty foes. A half-dozen allied races within the Thanagarian Empire have helped combat the Dionii, and the Thanagarians energy-disrupting devices give them a major advantage in hand-to-hand combat. Finally, the Empire buys a great deal of weaponry from the FAR and is considered a significant ally by that interstellar power.

The Line: this is a perimeter of FAR defenses positioned to both watch the Atorian Empire and directly oppose it if necessary and consists of thousands of warships, fighters, orbital platforms, and automated defenses. Critics within the Federation are skeptical as to whether or not the FAR's defenses, as represented by the Line, would even slow the Atorian Imperial Fleet down. In reality, FAR defense officials say (privately) the Line represents nothing more than hollow threats and the Atorians know it (they are right). Other planetary members of the Federation believe that the Line has given the Atorian Empire reason for pause (they have), and their united efforts have achieved unprecedented peace, security, and cooperation among its planets (also true). For now, whether or not the FAR could stop an all-out Atorian invasion force is a matter of conjecture. The FAR is honestly prepared to go to war, and the Line is the first bastion of their defense efforts. However, they see no reason to rush to war, especially if there is a real chance it can be avoided. Thus, the FAR will do everything possible to avoid clashing with the Atorians, until that inevitable day of conflict is thrust upon them.

Thennanin: an ancient telepathic tree-like race. Their micro-empire of 100 planets is near the Atorian Empire border and in danger of being overrun during the next Expansion Phase. However, their warships are equipped with unstoppable psychic weapons which can start killing enemy vessels at ranges up to 100 million kilometers! These deadly weapons can do enormous damage to anyone that attacks them: the weapons can pass instantly through shields and armor, lobotomizing enemy soldiers. Currently, the Thennanin leadership is prepping for war with the Atorians.

Thisserans: this alien reptilian race evolved on a nocturnal world, a planet called Kasin. Once they ventured into space, they encountered the very competitive Micean race. Like the Thisserans, the Miceans are glory-hounds and thrive on fame, prestige, and notoriety. These two races engaged in fierce but friendly competition for decades but came to respect and like each other very much. Eventually the Thisserans proposed a partnership in which the two races would form a intergalactic organization and become heroes of the universe. Since that time the Thissera-Micean Cooperative (TMC) has continued to expand in the Ilta Quadrant.

Thranx: this alien race is a high-tech insectoid species located between the FAR and the Atorian Empire. While currently at war with the fanatical Viltrumites, the Thranx have worked diligently with other neighboring races who are also in conflict with the supermen. Thranx history goes back thousands of years and they were one of the first space-faring races in the region. In addition, they are also absorbing many worlds that are breaking away from the Golgan Republik, a process that greatly upsets the Golgans.

Thissera-Micean Cooperative (TMC): this organization is a galactic police force created by the frog-like Thisserans and the rock-like Miceans. It is solely based in the Ilta Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. Manpower, weapons, equipment and some financing are provided by each of the planets that contract work with the TMC. This means the organization has an incredible array of resources at its disposal.

Titrana Quadrant: unlike other sectors of the Milky Way Galaxy, this region is nothing more than a vast expanse of anarchy. There are almost no organized civilizations in the entire area. It is a haven for pirates, thieves, warlords, outlaws, and fugitives of all kinds. The lack of any substantial authority in the sector makes it an ideal place to lay low, adventure, or plunder. This is especially true of low-tech planets whose local armed forces, police, and champions are likely to pose little to no threat to the advanced weaponry and equipment of a space-faring visitor. No one knows for sure how the sector fell into the present state of corruption, evil, and villainy.

Tolats: the history of this crab-like race goes back over 2 million years and they are some of the most advanced aliens in the Milky Way Galaxy. They have uplifted to sentience many animal species in the Liloqua Quadrant, including hundreds of alien races. In addition, they have also opposed the Atorians military expansion phases in the past. With this in mind, they also help/support members of the FAR Armed Forces (FARAF) and have created many new and unique technical items and weapons specifically for the FARAF. Tolats do not have an empire per se since they travel around the galaxy at will but their numbers are estimated at several billion researchers, scholars, and scientists (at least). The majority of Tolats are found in the Twelve Races area, which is the probable the location of their homeworld. Finally, they are known to have created many humanoid type robots to gather information and spy on hostile races.

Tollbooths: also known as Kerr-Tipler objects, non-catastrophic singularities, and portal arrays, these cylinders spin at unimaginable speeds, creating a transit tube from one array to another (the Skyway). These tollbooths are usually located on habitable planets and were built by the long-dead Riishi race. The Riishi Maze is spread out over several hundred worlds in the Liloqua Quadrant and numerous alien races inhabit the Riishi Maze, although none truly dominate the Skyway. Many different kinds of land vehicles travel the Skyway, trading goods across the worlds within the Maze. The Riishi were known as "the Roadbuilders" and only their super-advanced automated robots which maintain the Skyway (and the Skyway itself) are what is left of their legacy.

Toogarth Empire: located in the Titrana Sector of the Milky Way Galaxy, this micro-empire is steadily expanding by using intimidation and brute strength. They were originally a low-tech race that hijacked high-tech spaceships and now cruelly dominate dozens of star systems. These reptilian aliens have founded a regime based on conquest, cruelty, and extermination. The Ska undead warships are a recent discovery for the Toogarth and have been a major boon to their their insidious ambitions.

Travelling World: a huge starship (usually moving at sublight speeds and undoubtedly kilometers long) fully self-contained and ecologically stable that travels between the stars, most likely looking for a habitable world or new home to colonize. An example of this type of generation-ship is the Snee Interstellar Fleet of 14 vessels which arrived at the FAR world of Caltoro Minor several years ago. The Snee have since been relocated into the low-population Orgika Sector.

Tygokor: this alien race is a hyper-aggressive cat-like race that were discovered by the Wulfen Empire about 70 years after the Final War ended and have been under the thumb of the Wulfens ever since. Because of their very aggressive nature, the Tygokor have been in every single battle (small or large) that the Wulfens have engaged in since then. The most famous of these wars was the occupation of the Shriekers home system (a bird-like race that were incredibly war-like). Their star system is a habitable gas torus that the Shriekers had adapted themselves to over millennia. The war that followed between the Wulfen (and mainly the Tygokor) and the Shriekers is generally called by human historians as "The Cat and Bird War" and was a unique demonstration on the destructive blood-lust nature of both races. For over 2 years heavy fighting took place across the system using small aero craft, assault shuttles, fighters, and sleds. The war took millions of lives before armed Wulfen peacekeepers were called in to stop the fighting. In the end, the Tygokor have proved themselves over and over again in combat and are generally thought of as the Wulfen strongest and most combative of all the Empires' races. They are, in fact, thee elite Marines and combat specialists in the Wulfen Empires' armed forces.

Uplift: uplift is a developmental process to transform a certain species of animals into more intelligent beings by other, already-intelligent beings. This is usually accomplished by cultural, technological, or evolutional interventions like genetic engineering. Some of these "client species" are sometimes indentured to its patron species. In addition, these newly uplifted client races are largely reliant on the species who uplifted them for representation in the wider politics of the galaxy. Uplift practices in the Milky Way Galaxy are sometimes outlawed on certain planets (and smaller empires) over the ethical and environmental questions raised by such acts. Cultural uplift is distinguished from biological uplift in that it does not physically alter the organism. Finally, the Tolat race are the premier specialists in the field of Uplift in the Milky Way Galaxy, having transformed hundreds of low-intelligent animals into thinking species. The Atorians have banned uplift within their Empire.

Uplift Society: a FAR-based scientific organization that promotes genetic changes (uplift): the creation of new sapient species from animal stock. MORE HERE SOON

Vaast: these are a alien species of inorganic, amorphous and multicellular symbiotic parasite originally inhabiting the steppenwolf planet Klyntar. The Symbiotes also function as living extradimensional tesseracts, requiring living hosts to anchor them to the fabric of space and time. They empower a host's natural abilities, have genetic memory (recalling information from previous hosts), and can reproduce asexually. The most unique ability of the Vaast is the ability to change shape and size at will. They also have the ability to negate damage caused by terminal illnesses and permanent injuries as well as prolonging its hosts' lives. Symbiotes are immortal and were originally created by an ancient malevolent primordial deity whose name is lost to time. The Vaast have been shown to be vulnerable to the abilities of the telepaths. The Atorian Empire hates and pursues all Vaast symbiotes within its territory.

Vanguard Dynasty: this enormously wealthy family is a virtual newcomer to their positions of power on the city-planet Mycos, using their eternal memories and skills to their best advantage. Their combined wealth is in the hundreds of billions of credits and they dominate much of the planets' interstellar shipping. Their money, combined with their powerful influences in goods and trade, make them a virtually untouchable dynasty on Mycos.

Ver: is the homeworld of the Veran race, the galaxy's best computer hackers, splicers, data analysts, and information brokers. The planet is located deep in FAR space and Verans can be found in all levels of Federation society.

Verans: these insect-like aliens are from the planet Ver and they can be seen all across Federation space, working mainly in the computer field. Their unique brains had some evolutionary quirks that give them the ability to merge with computer networks on a level that cannot be rivaled by any other alien race.

Viltrumites: extremely powerful by human standards, the alien Viltrumite race are a brutal, vicious race. They have achieved what they call a "utopia" by culling the weak from their own numbers, leaving a race of militant conquerors bent on bringing new worlds under their control and utterly subjugating weaker civilizations. Viltrum is a beautiful world ruled by a race of cruel beings with godlike powers of flight, invulnerability, super strength, and super-speed as well as additional random superpowers. Once rich in resources, the natural wealth of Viltrum has long been depleted, forcing them into a march for empire. They dominate Viltrum and every other habitable planet within a hundred light years of their homeworld and are extremely technically advanced. Recently the Viltrumites just seek to hold what they have, especially in the face of an expansive and aggressive Atorian Empire lying nearby. They can transverse the galaxy under their own power without the need of spaceships. Almost all Viltrumites are megalomaniacal power-mongers and they age very slowly as well, living for thousands of years.

Virh Communion: a minor-MDC humanoid race, the Virh look exactly like humans except for the lack of a pupil, and indeed they can cross breed with them. The Communion is mostly former Golgan territory and many races within it have happily joined the Virh after much oppression under their former Golgan masters. The Virh get along well with most of their neighbors and are helping the Hert in their war against the Dionii by providing arms and testing new weapons on the battlefield. The Commorium consists of several hundred worlds.

Vivers: a group of genetically engineered humanoids who are fantastically violent and are known as super-survivalists. They were created by a radical group of FAR scientists but the Vivers escaped and are now living near the Black Forest Zone. They are heavily armored, with their brains and hearts being decentralized throughout the body in small nodes; all being very regenerative. They like the company of their own kind and run into large families; all are heavily armed.

War of Imporzei: this important sector of space (the Imporzei Sector) was within the boundaries of the newly-formed Federation of Allied Races (FAR) so when the Tertellian Empire began to invade, it sparked the First War of Imporzei. After 10 years of heavy fighting, the FAR emerged victorious. The conflict also standardized the military forces of all the alien races within the FAR.

War of Sandusky Succession: this brutal conflict started on the fringe world Sandusky but eventually spread to more than 30 neighboring star systems. At first FAR political leaders were loathe to get involved, although the military leaders were chomping at the bit to jump in. However, when the war spread and the high-population world Llyra was destroyed (resulting in the deaths of over 10 billion people), the FAR was eventually dragged into the conflict. The War of Sandusky Succession was the second major conflict in the last 50 years that the FAR was involved in and it caused major military reforms, especially in the area of warship construction.

Warden Diamond: Hal Warden was something of a legend among FAR scouts, a man who disliked most everything about civilization, not least the people. Warden spent as little time as possible in "civilization", often just long enough to refuel and re-provision. He flew farther, longer, and more often than any other Federation scout before or since, and his discoveries were astonishing in their numbers alone. Unfortunately for his bosses back in the FAR, Warden felt that discovery was his only purpose. He left just about everything else, including preliminary surveys and reports, to those who would use his beamed coordinates to follow him. When the fabled scout found the "Warden Diamond" in 1298 IR he became instantly famous across the Federation since the Diamond was the only star system in the Milky Way Galaxy with four habitable planets; a extraordinary find!

Wefts: a friendly empathic species of very tall (8 feet) shaggy white-furred aliens who are closely allied with the FAR, the Weft homeworld is located in the Chigogi Neutral Zone. Since they are friendly, Wefts have been allowed full range of movement and freedoms within the Federation of Allied Races and are valued members of any starship crew.

Wickerman Family: a wealthy and influential royal family from the city-planet Santanni. They have widespread ties with many worlds, including the industrial Iron Belt Worlds. They also have influential ties within various Liloqua sector underworld groups.

Wulfen Empire: the Wulfen Empire is a ossified, decaying polity of several hundred worlds. Its ancient history is catching up with the Wulfen as younger and more energetic races are now surpassing their once glorious achievements. Located between two massive interstellar empires (the FAR and Atorians) the odds are high that the Wulfen Empire will be caught between them during the next Expansion Phase, something no one is looking forward to since the Wulfen still have a mighty arsenal. While mostly passive now, the Wulfen would go on the warpath if their beloved homeworld (Motherhome) were damaged or destroyed during any conflict.

Wraith Space: a dangerous warped "underspace" that is traveled only by the most foolhardy, it is filled with ghostly spirit-like lifeforms like gremlins, wraiths, and warplings (also known as "the Foos"). Scientists insist the Foos are nothing but vivid hallucinations, but everyone who has spent enough time in their warped space knows better. Warplings, Foos, or demons, whatever you wanted to call them, are different. If you did enough warp jumps in a row, they spotted you and started giving chase. Getting killed on the battlefield was bad, but losing your soul in Wraith Space to a Foo was a lot worse. It was said they could torture your conscious mind and soul for eternity, which frightens most people away from their space. The immense increase in galactic speed was the only reason anyone traveled there and thousands of aliens go missing every year as they traversed that gruesome region of space.

Wychan Temporal Incident: MORE HERE SOON

Xenosilicates: these rare minerals are found only one place in the Milky Way Galaxy, on the waterworld Poseidon. They are used to extend life for most major races in the galaxy and are extremely valuable, with one dose often going for a million or more credits. Their efficacy varies from race to race but the standard is one dose needed per every 100 years of added life.

Xenoengineer: a high-tech scientist specializing in utilizing alien technologies, usually very advanced ones. These types of trouble-shooters are generally from wealthy worlds with very advanced technology. The FAR civilian bureaucracy has several teams specializing in this area.

Yoler: a primitive ophidian alien species in the process of being uplifted by the Tolats. They are unique in having a round tire-like body that needs to keep constantly rolling to stay alive.

Zadra Network: MORE HERE SOON

Zootsuits: slang for the armored "combat suits" made specifically for the FAR Marines, they are lightweight power armor that is extremely effective on the battlefield. However, they cost an enormous amount of money (nearly the same cost as a destroyer warship) so only a few thousand have been built.
